Overview:The IT Infrastructure Expert is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance. This role requires a deep understanding of server technologies, virtualization, networking, security, and cloud computing.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Planning & Design:
.Develop and implement infrastructure strategies to optimize performance and scalability. •Design, install, and configure physical and virtual servers, operating systems, utilities, and application software. •Architect, implement, and maintain virtual infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, OVM). •Design and maintain robust security, backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies. •Evaluate and optimize unified computing and network resources.
System Administration & Support: •Manage Microsoft Servers, Active Directory, VMware, Oracle VM, Hyper-V, Azure, Microsoft 365, and server security. •Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux environments (Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat). •Administer and support core server technologies, including Cisco UCS, Blade, Rack Servers, fabric interconnect, and storage networks (EMC VNX, Clarion). •Manage performance tuning for application stacks (Tomcat, Apache), file/print servers, DFS, and Microsoft Office 365. •Administer backup solutions Symantec NetBackup-VEEAM, (EDR/XDR), endpoint protection, and other security systems.
Virtualization, Containerization, & Cloud:•Design and manage virtualization and containerization solutions (VMware, OVM, Hyper-V, Virtual Box).•Manage and maintain VCenter, ESXi infrastructure, VDS, and standard switches.•Conduct Cloud management (MS Azure, Google Cloud).•Deploy, configure, and monitor storage area networks (EMC Unisphere) and handle LUN creation, zoning, and storage capacity.
Security & Compliance:•Design and implement security settings, access permissions, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) classification standards.•Perform server hardening, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT), non-compliance remediation, and ISO 27001 compliance audits.•Ensure adherence to CIS benchmarks and other industry standards for security infrastructure.•Administer EDR/XDR antivirus and other endpoint security solutions.Monitoring & Optimization:•Ensure high availability of systems and infrastructure by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving bottlenecks.•Write and maintain custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.•Perform system analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and advanced problem resolution.•Configure and manage systems for file/print services, DFS, and backup/restore procedures.Collaboration & Documentation:•Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, contractors, and IT personnel from other departments for solution implementation and problem-solving.•Document complex procedures and provide 2nd and 3rd level support to support teams.•Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plans.•Maintain system documentation for backup, recovery, and system management.
Additional Tasks:Administer load balancers, MS SQL, Oracle RAC, Exadata, and other relevant systems.•Manage monitoring tools, system auditing, log collection, and perform root cause analyses.•Maintain and operate service desk support portals (e.g., Manage Engine, Fresh Works, …etc.).•Evaluate new system hardware/software and monitor emerging technologies.

The Senior Information Security Expert at CCQ is a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the institution’s cybersecurity framework, ensuring compliance with Qatar’s National Cybersecurity Strategy, PDPL, ISO 27001, NIA V2, and NIST standards. The role involves leading the Information Security Management System (ISMS), overseeing SOC operations, conducting risk assessments, managing cloud and network security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), and ensuring proactive threat intelligence and incident response.
